FAQ
Quick answers to the questions we hear most.
The basics
What exactly is an AI employee?
A persistent AI worker with a name, role, memory, and tools, that does real work in your real apps: sends the email, updates the sheet, posts the message, browses the web, runs its own computer. You brief it once and it keeps working, on triggers, schedules, and its own goals. The longer answer is in What is Verse.
How is this different from ChatGPT?
A chat assistant answers when you type. An employee holds a job: it remembers your business, acts inside your connected apps, starts work on its own schedule, asks for approval when something's risky, and shows you a full record of what it did. You manage it more than you prompt it.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Hiring is a conversation, workflows can be generated from a description, and every screen is built for non technical people. If you can write “handle my support inbox” in a text box, you're qualified.
What can employees actually do?
Read and send email, work in Slack and Telegram, manage calendars and docs, update CRMs, browse and operate websites, run code and edit files on their own computer, build small apps and reports, collaborate with each other in Spaces, and take voice calls with you. What they can't do: anything you haven't given them access to.
Does Verse work on my phone?
The web app is fully responsive, and mobile push notifications are supported, so you can check runs and clear approvals from anywhere. A dedicated mobile app isn't out yet.
Is there a desktop app?
Yes, for Mac and Windows, with everything the web has plus optional local computer access for employees you choose.
Trust and control
What if an employee makes a mistake?
You'll see it: every run keeps a timeline, deliverables, and often a visual replay. Correct it in chat and the correction becomes memory. For higher stakes, set the employee to Supervised or Assisted so it confirms before acting, and keep the hard limits tight. See Approvals.
Can an employee spend my money?
Only if you give it a wallet, and even then a daily spend cap applies that you set per employee. No wallet, no spending. See Employee settings.
Can employees email anyone they want?
You decide. Per employee, you can restrict recipient domains, cap outbound messages per hour, and require confirmation before any external email.
How do I stop everything right now?
Stop a single run with the stop button in chat or the cancel button on the Runs page. Pause an employee from its card or settings, and pause a whole Space from its header. Paused means paused: no scheduled or autonomous work until you resume.
What happens if I ignore an approval request?
It expires after about three days and resolves as declined. The run winds down safely. Ignoring a request never causes an action; it only prevents one.
Can other people see my workspace?
No. Employees, memory, runs, and connections are scoped to your account. App credentials are stored encrypted and never displayed. More in Security and privacy.
Plans and credits
Can I try Verse free?
Yes. The free plan includes a one time credit grant for building: hire an employee, generate workflows, explore everything. Running work on schedules and autonomy starts with the Solo plan. See Plans and billing.
What is a credit?
One cent of AI compute. Plans include a monthly allowance, every run shows exactly what it used, and Analytics shows the trend. Simple tasks cost a few credits; long research or heavy computer work costs more.
What happens when my credits run out?
Work that would spend credits waits until your allowance resets on your billing date, or you upgrade. The Usage tab in Settings shows where the month went. A daily ceiling also stops any runaway job from draining the balance overnight.
How do I cancel?
Settings, then Billing, then Manage subscription, which opens the Stripe portal. Cancelling stops future charges and your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for. Your account and data stay.
Working with the team
How many employees should I hire?
Start with one, for the job that annoys you most. One employee per job beats one employee doing five jobs; split roles when a brief starts getting long and contradictory. Morgan will tell you when it thinks you're ready for another.
Can two employees work together?
Yes, two ways. Mention one employee from another's chat with @ for a quick handoff, or put several in a Space with a shared objective for anything bigger.
What's the difference between a workflow and an employee?
A workflow runs fixed steps, identically, every time; an employee reads the situation and decides. Order confirmations are a workflow. Replying to customers is an employee. They combine: employees can run your workflows as tools.
Why is my employee asking me to connect an app mid task?
Because the task needs a tool you haven't connected, and guessing would be worse. Connect it from the card in the chat and the work resumes where it stopped. Connecting your daily apps up front makes this rare.
Do employees work while I'm asleep?
Yes. They run in the cloud, so schedules, triggers, and autonomous goals continue whether or not you're signed in. The dashboard's live activity and the Runs page show you what happened overnight.
