Your website
Your company's website, built by your employees and hosted by Verse: how to start it, the website editor, publishing, forms, visitors, your address and your own domain.
Each company gets one website, built by its employees and hosted by Verse at an address like yourname.useverse.ai. Edit it in the website editor, by chat or by hand.
Starting your website
Open Website in the sidebar. The website editor opens with the employee whose role fits best in the chat on the right. Describe the website you want and send it. That first message creates your website, and its pages appear in the preview as they're built. To rename it, click its name at the top. From then on, Website opens your website in the editor.
Your employee builds it right there in the chat while you watch: a plan that ticks off, each file as it's written, and the preview filling in. A long build keeps going by itself, and the stop button ends it. Small changes take a moment.
The website editor
The website's own chat with your employee sits on the right. It's kept apart from your other conversations with them. Each reply shows the work behind it: the files it changed, any images it made, and the version it saved, which you can preview or restore. Attach images to a message to show what you mean or to use on the site. The site sits on the left and updates the moment anything changes. Switch between desktop, tablet and phone sizes, and pick a page from the list or click its links.
Press Select, then click anything on the page. Edit text lets you type straight into it, Replace image uploads a picture of your own, and the Ask button (with your employee's name) puts that part of the page into your next message, so you can say “make this bigger” and your employee knows exactly what you mean.
Along the top: Code shows the site's files (it's written in React and TypeScript): its pages, components, layout and styles, which you can edit and save. If something in the code breaks, the error shows above the site and under the file, and Fix it asks your employee to fix it. Forms, Analytics and Settings are below. The clock button opens the history: every version, who made it and when. Preview any of them, and Restore makes one the draft again without losing anything in between.
Publishing
Nothing you or your employee changes is public until it's published. Publish puts the site live at its address, and once it's live the button says Publish changes whenever the draft has something new. Your employee publishes when the site is ready, and you can always publish yourself, or take the site down with Unpublish in Settings.
On a company's pre-launch checklist, the team builds the website, and it only counts as done when it could pass for a real business: no placeholder words, and every product with a photo, a price and a way to buy. Your team doesn't publish it before the launch, except a software or digital product's waitlist page if you say yes to putting it up: the site goes live open for business when you say yes to the launch call, checked from outside before anything is announced. After that your team keeps it up to date without asking, and every change stays open for business.
Forms
Your employee can add contact, booking or signup forms. Everything people send shows under Forms, newest first, and Export CSV downloads it. You also get an email for each one (up to 25 a day per site), unless you turn Company emails off in your notification settings. Spam is turned away before it reaches you.
A submission never sets your employees to work by itself, so nobody can spend your credits by filling in a form. Forms can never ask for passwords, card numbers or bank details.
Visitors
Analytics shows visitors and page views for the last 7, 30 or 90 days, your top pages and where visitors came from. Visitors are counted without cookies and nothing personal about them is kept.
Your address and your own domain
Your website gets its own address, made from its name. To change it, open Settings and edit Address: some addresses are reserved, and the old address stops working as soon as you save.
Search engines decides whether Google and others may list the site. Under Details you set the title and description search results show, a favicon and the image link previews use.
Buy a domain
You can buy a domain for your website without leaving Verse. It's registered in your name, it's live within minutes with nothing to set up, and it costs what the registrar charges plus the card fee, nothing more (a .com is $11.90 a year).
- 1
Find a name
Open your website, then Settings. Under Custom domain, choose Buy a domain and press Search. Verse shows which names are free and what each costs.
- 2
Buy it
Press Buy and pay. Your card is only charged once the domain is registered; if the registry refuses it, you pay nothing.
- 3
Confirm your email
The domain registry emails you to confirm your details. Confirm it within 15 days, or the registry switches the domain off.
Does it renew?
Yes, each year, with the card you bought it with, and Verse emails you before it does. Turn renewal off under Custom domain to let it go when it expires.
Can I move it somewhere else?
Yes, it's yours. Press Move it elsewhere to get the transfer code the other registrar asks for.
Why can't I buy a .co.uk, .com.au or .co.nz?
Verse's registrar doesn't sell those yet, and endings like .us, .ca and .au need registry details Verse can't collect. Buy one from any registrar and connect it below.
Can I get a refund?
No. Domain registrations aren't refundable.
Connect your own domain
You can put your website on a domain you already own, like yourbusiness.com. The domain stays where it is: you add one or two records where its DNS is managed, and Verse does the rest, including the secure certificate. The useverse.ai address keeps working too.
- 1
Connect it
Open your website, then Settings. Under Custom domain, choose Use one you own, type your domain (yourbusiness.com, or a subdomain like shop.yourbusiness.com) and press Connect.
- 2
Add the records
Verse shows the exact records to add, each with a copy button. Sign in where your domain's DNS is managed, usually the company you bought the domain from, and add each one.
- 3
Wait for it to go live
Verse checks every few minutes and emails you when your domain is live. It often takes minutes and can take up to 48 hours. Check again asks right away.
| Record | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| A | @ (the domain itself) | The address Verse shows, like 76.76.21.21 |
| CNAME | www, or your subdomain | The name Verse shows, like cname.vercel-dns.com |
| TXT | _vercel | Only when Verse asks for it: it proves the domain is yours |
Connect yourbusiness.com and Verse sets up www.yourbusiness.com too, which sends visitors to yourbusiness.com (connect the www address and it works the other way round). Its record is marked optional: your domain goes live without it.
Adding the records
- Look for DNS, DNS settings or Manage DNS next to your domain at the company that manages it (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Cloudflare and so on).
- A name of @ means the domain itself. Some providers want that field left blank instead.
- Delete any other A, AAAA or CNAME record with the same name first, or visitors may still see the old site.
- On Cloudflare, set each record to DNS only (the grey cloud), not proxied.
- Your email keeps working: these records don't touch your domain's MX records.
It still says Waiting for DNS
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to reach everyone. Check that each record matches exactly, that no other A, AAAA or CNAME record shares its name, and, on Cloudflare, that it's set to DNS only. Verse keeps checking for a week; after that, press Check again once the records are in.
It says the domain is already in use
It's connected to another website, on Verse or somewhere else (another Vercel project, for example). Remove it there first, then connect it again.
Do I need to change my nameservers?
No. Keep your DNS where it is and add the records Verse shows, so your email and anything else on the domain keeps working.
How do I stop using it?
Press Disconnect under Custom domain. Your website keeps working at its useverse.ai address.
Which plans include it
Every paid plan includes a website for each of your companies. Building it uses your credits, at most 100 for one build however big it gets, and a few for a small change; hosting, forms and analytics are included.
If your plan changes
If you move to Free, your website freezes: it stays live, but nothing on it can change. You get one email a week before it goes offline, and 30 days after the move it goes offline. Upgrade before then and it stays up. Either way, your form submissions stay in Verse, ready to export.
Reporting a site
Every website ends with a small Built with Verse line and a Report this site link. If a site breaks our terms, Verse can take it down: visitors then see “This site isn't available”. If you think that's a mistake, write to support@useverse.ai.
