Glossary

Every Verse term in one place, alphabetical, one or two lines each.

Term	Meaning
Agent	The older name for an employee. You'll still see it in URLs, like /agents.
Approval	A request where an employee pauses and asks you to decide before acting. It waits above the message box in their chat and on Waiting on you.
Autonomous mode	A per employee setting where it checks in on its goals every few minutes and starts work without waiting for triggers.
Brand call	The card you get when you ask to change your company's name or look: three looks and a few names to pick from, each name with a note on its .com. The look you pick becomes your logo everywhere at once. A company never gets one unasked: its name and look are made with it.
Brief	The interview you answer when hiring. Becomes the employee's understanding of the job, stored in memory.
Call	A decision only you should make for your company, like what to sell or the sign-off to launch. Your Manager brings it as a card of 2 to 4 options the team made, and picking one approves it.
Chapter	One step on your company's pre-launch checklist. It starts once the steps it needs are done, has at most one call, and ends with your Manager showing you the result.
Connector	A connection between Verse and one of your apps, like Gmail. Managed on the Connectors page.
Context	The workspace wide facts hub in the sidebar. Shared knowledge every employee can draw on.
Coordinator	The built in lead of every Space, marked with a crown. Breaks the objective into tasks and keeps the room moving.
Credits	The unit of work your employees consume. Heavier work uses more; plans include a monthly allowance.
Deliverable	An openable artifact a run produced: a doc, sheet, deck, page, image, or app. Shown on the run's detail view.
Employee	An AI worker you hire, with a name, role, memory, tools, and settings.
Goal	A standing objective on an employee's Workspace tab, pursued in Autonomous mode.
Hire call	A call your Manager brings when the work needs a department your team doesn't have, like Support once customers start emailing. Hire, and someone joins to run it with their first work ready; pick Not yet, and your Manager won't suggest that department again for 7 days.
Manager	The employee who runs your company day to day: it owns the pre-launch checklist, hands out the work and checks on the team. Pinned first in your Employees list, and it can't be deleted on its own; deleting the company removes it with the whole team.
Memory	What an employee retains between conversations: the brief, corrections, preferences, and what it learns working.
App	Software an employee creates for the work: a tracker, pipeline, planner or manager with real records you both use. Lives at Apps and on the employee's Workspace tab.
Waiting on you	The page at the top of your Employees list collecting everything your team needs from you, counted in red on Employees in the sidebar.
Pre-launch checklist	Everything a company you start from an idea needs before it launches, written by your Manager and ending with the launch itself. It's the Plan on your Manager's card and your team room's, each step under way is a topic in the team room, and your company moves toward launch as it does.
Launch checks	Everything your company has to pass before it launches, from what you sell being on sale to the website being open for business, each checked against the real thing. They're on Work, and the Launch call comes only once every one has passed.
Growth cycle	After launch, two to four plays the team runs toward your next goal, each with an owner and a topic in the team room. When they're done the numbers are read again, and the next cycle starts from what worked.
Run	One unit of work, from any source: chat, schedule, trigger, or autonomy. Has a timeline, cost, and deliverables.
Website	Each company's website, built by its employees and hosted by Verse at an address like yourname.useverse.ai. Edit it in the website editor, under Website in the sidebar.
Skill	An installable package of know how for one job, like editing PDFs. Loaded only when a task needs it.
Space	A room where up to twelve employees plus a Coordinator work toward one objective.
Surface	A place an employee can operate: its browser or its computer. Sessions are watchable live and replayable.
Team room	Your company's group chat, named after the company, with the whole team in it and the Manager leading. The Manager hands out work there and the team reports back. It stays as long as the company does, and its members follow the team.
Template	A ready made starting point from the Templates page: a proven employee role or a prebuilt workflow.
Trigger	What starts work automatically: a schedule, an app event, a webhook, or a manual button.
Wallet	An optional USD balance an employee can spend, bounded by your daily cap.
Workflow	A fixed, step by step automation on a visual canvas. Runs identically every time.
Workspace tab	An employee's office: task board, activity, inbox, connectors, triggers, memory, and goals in one view.
